Construction work on the 4500MW Diamer Basha Dam and the 800MW Mohmand Dam projects in Pakistan will start in fiscal year 2018-19, WAPDA Chairman Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain has confirmed.
The news was announced during a visit by Water Resources Federal Minister Syed Ali Zafar toWAPDA House.
Diamer Basha Dam will have a gross water storage capacity of 8.1 MAF and Mohmand Dam will store 1.2 MAF water. Both projects are vital to attain water and energy security in the country.
