Grande Dixence SA has appointed Beat Imboden as new director of the company. From 1 August 2023, the 57-year-old engineer will succeed Amédée Kronig, who is retiring after 11 years at the head of the company.

Beat Imboden is an electrical engineer with a degree from ETH Zurich. He has been working at Alpiq since 2010 as an asset manager and project leader. In particular, he manages the Electra-Massa and Energie Electrique du Simplon facilities. He previously worked for BKW, Rhonewerke/FMV and ABB, among others. 

Amédée Kronig, current director of the company, joined Grande Dixence in 1988 and became director in 2011. Over the past six years, he has notably managed the renovation of the Fionnay and Nendaz power plants, and the penstock connecting the Lac des Dix to the Rhône valley.
