Webuild has signed an agreement with Ukrainian hydropower plant operator Ukrhydroenergo that will allow the two parties to collaborate for the next three years on the construction of new hydroelectric infrastructure in Ukraine.

The Memorandum of Collaboration is aimed at assessing the feasibility of developing hydroelectric plants, or their conversion into pumping stations, in the country.

The signing of the memorandum was announced during the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference, held in Rome and organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The conference was dedicated to discussing participation and projects to contribute to rebuilding Ukraine.

According to World Bank and European Commission forecasts, the cost of rebuilding Ukraine and helping the country recover should amount to approximately €383 billion for investments to be made during the 2023-2033 period. Investments would mainly be earmarked for transport, residential buildings and the energy sector.
