GE has announced that GE Vernova has made two updates to its leadership team, reinforcing the company's trajectory toward a planned spin-off in the early months of 2024. This strategic move will help GE Vernova prepare to become a stand-alone company focused on the energy transition.

Effective January 22, 2024, Jessica Uhl is set to assume the role of President at GE Vernova, reporting directly to CEO Scott Strazik. Tasked with overseeing Research and Development (R+D) and Business Development, Uhl will play a pivotal role in shaping GE Vernova's strategic course on technology, innovation, and growth. Having served on the GE Board since 2023, Uhl will transition from her board responsibilities to concentrate on her new position.

“I’ve had the privilege to work closely with Jessica as a member of the GE Board, and with her proven leadership and extensive experience in the energy sector, I believe she is uniquely positioned for this role and will further strengthen our purpose-driven culture,” Strazik said. “She brings both domain expertise and practical skills to enable GE Vernova to innovate, grow and lead in the energy transition at scale and to advance our mission of electrifying and decarbonizing the world.”

“Jessica was one of the first people we met in assembling the spin-ready GE Vernova Board and management team,” added GE Chairman and CEO and GE Aerospace CEO H. Lawrence Culp, Jr. “We were excited to get her on the Board and now thrilled, after getting closer to the people and business, that she’s joining the management team full-time.”

Uhl, recognized on both Forbes and Fortune's lists of Most Powerful Women, brings over two decades of experience in the energy sector, including her prior role as CFO and board member at Shell plc. She is currently the Co-Chair of the Mission Possible Partnership and sits on the Board of Directors of Goldman Sachs.

Simultaneously, GE Vernova welcomes Pablo Koziner as its Chief Commercial Officer, effective January 22, 2024. Reporting to Strazik as well, Koziner will focus on enhancing the customer experience and maximizing GE Vernova's scale across its Power, Wind, and Electrification businesses in key customer growth markets.

Strazik praised Koziner's contributions, stating: "In his first few months in the company, Pablo has already become an incredibly valuable and trusted partner for me on how we run our company better and focus our entire organization even more on the customer."

Koziner, previously the Strategy Leader at Nikola Corporation, boasts extensive global energy and commercial experience. His tenure at Nikola included leading their commercial sales, hydrogen fueling, and battery charging businesses. Before that, Koziner spent over 19 years at Caterpillar Inc., holding key roles such as president of Solar Turbines and vice president of Electric Power.
