Tunisia has secured a US$92M loan from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) for the construction of two dams in the northern part of the country.
The project will cover the Elkebir and Elmouli dams and three pipelines, and will channel water from the Wadi Kebir, Wadi Bouterfas and Wadi Zirka into the water supply system serving Tunis.
The loan was agreed in Tunis by AFESD chairman Abdulatif al Hamad and Tunisia’s International Co-operation and Foreign Investment Minister Fethi Merdassi.
