Serving the hydro power and dam construction industries since 1949
Potrerillos dam, located in western Argentina's Mendoza province, is nearing completion. CEMPPSA, a local consortium consisting of Industrias Metalurgicas Pescarmona (Impsa) and Cartellone, began construction of the US$268M dam in 1999.
Once completed, the dam will supply drinking water to the city of Mendoza 35km away, store irrigation water, generate some power and provide flood control of the Mendoza river.
Currently the reservoir is being filled and initial power generation began last year.
