The project, expected to have a capacity of 18MW, will help meet future energy demands in the region, which currently has one of the highest electricity rates because generation portfolio in the area is heavily dependent on oil.
New hydro planned for Philippine’s Aklan province
Filipino firm Oriental Energy & Power Generation Co (OEPGC) – a subsidiary of publicly listed mining firm Oriental Peninsula Resources Group – has announced plans to build a P2.5B (US$53M) hydroelectric power plant in Madalag, Aklan province.
