The work is to be finished within 38 months in time for the scheme’s expected completion date of August 2007.
NHPC is constructing the project on the Sewa river in Jammu and Kashmir state at a cost of US$143M. On completion it will consist of a 53m concrete gravity dam, a 10km long headrace tunnel and three 40MW generating units in an underground power house.
