Both are rehabilitation projects of plants owned by Savon Voima Oy. Mavel will supply a vertical Kaplan turbine with runner diameter of 1290mm and five blades, generator and hydraulic unit for Alasorsakoski. The site has head of 10.4m, a flow of 8m3/sec and will ultimately have an installed capacity of 730kW.
For the Ylasorsakoski rehabilitation project, Mavel will also supply a vertical Kaplan turbine, with 1290mm runner diameter and four blades, generator and hydraulic unit. This site has head of 7.55m and flow of 8m3/sec and will have installed power of 540kW.
Both projects should be commissioned by the end of October 2007.
