The French government is planning to launch tenders to renew concessions for up to 10 hydropower stations in the country. No dates for the tenders have yet been announced, but the government is reportedly hiring advisors to complete tender specifications.
According to reports from Reuters, E.ON is planning to spend $9.2M to expand its renewable business over the next five years, with the French hydropower concessions marked as an important step.
Earlier this year, energy company Vattenfall announced it is to join forces with French firms ArcelorMittal, Rhodia and SNCF to also bid for the hydro concessions.
