Through the establishment of this subsidiary, Multiconsult says it has gained a team of new employees who are very talented; many of whom are considered to be international experts in hydro power planning and engineering. ’We have worked together with this team on several international projects and we know that they will strengthen our position further – both in the Norwegian and international hydro power markets,’ says Tom Ødegaard, chairman of the board.
The 22 new employees join 1500 permanent staff. They bring with them a history of working on projects ranging from mini hydro through to schemes of several thousand megawatts. ’Their expertise combined with our existing capabilities, will provide our clients with an unrivalled service across all aspects of hydro power development,’ Ødegaard added.
’Renewable energy is one of our priority markets and we have ambitious growth plans within this sector. It is difficult to recruit senior hydro power engineers in Norway, but with this new office established with a talented core of engineers, we have taken a major step forward in our growth strategy and have provided an ideal platform for further recruitment,’ says Christian Nørgaard Madsen, CEO of Multiconsult.
Multiconsult is one of Norway’s largest consulting engineering firms and operates under the name NORPLAN for renewable projects outside Scandinavia.
