AFRY has been contracted by Patel Engineering Ltd to carry out the Detailed Design and Engineering Services for the construction of Suthaliya and Parbati Major Irrigation Projects in the District Rajgarh, Madya Pradesh Region, India. The projects will feature small hydropower developments.

The Suthaliya Irrigation Project comprises of three small dams and four barrages. The Prabati Irrigation Project comprises of one existing concrete dam and two minor dams. As Parbati is an existing dam, detailed design shall be carried out for Kariya Dam and Kadirabad Dam.

The first phase of the project, planned to begin June 2020, includes initial review of data and the preparation of a Project Inception report. The Detailed Design Engineering in phase 2 will provide detailed design of civil works, basic design of hydro-mechanical works, tender design of electro-mechanical works, review & approval of vendor design documents of electro mechanical & hydro mechanical equipment, including factory inspections.

The estimated time for completion is 30 months from start date, with support on design assistance for the total construction duration of 48 months.
