The order was awarded by plant owner Brookfield Renewable Power and is valued at approximately Can$9.2M (US$7.3M).

Work includes the supply and installation of new stator windings and also refurbishment of field windings and poles for two 87MVA generators. The first unit is to the operational again by May next year.

The unit of the Andritz group that will undertake the work was formerly GE Hydro, and was acquired in the middle of this year. Andritz cited the rapid delivery time as well as local, advanced manufacturing capability being among key deciding factors in the award of the job.
