Andritz has been contracted by Indian power producer Greenko Energy to supply electro-mechanical equipment for the 1200MW Pinnapuram project, the largest pumped storage plant in India.
Located in the Kumool district of Andhra Pradesh state in India, the plant will be part of the first integrated renewable energy storage project combining electrical energy production based on photovoltaic solar, wind, and pumped storage. Commissioning of the first units at the plant is expected by 2023.
Andritz’s contract includes design, manufacture, supply, transportation, erection, testing, and commissioning of four 240MW units, two 120MW reversible pump units, main inlet valves, and associated auxiliaries.
