According to newswire reports, the auctions are likely to include four dams on the Teles Pires River basin, five dams on the Parnaiba River and energy from the Santo Antonio do Jari dam in the Amazon region.
The auctions are expected to go ahead once environmental licensing has been approved. Some of the proposed projects are likely impact on indigenous territories and would require additional approval.
