The turbines are to range in capacity from 100kW-12MW.
edf plans to have an approved shortlist of prequalified suppliers to whom it will turn when turbines are required. The power utility is looking for both turbine manufacturers and turnkey contractors to help match the works that may be required at different plants.
The utility added that there was no deadline on the qualification procedure.
