Flovel has been awarded a contract to equip the Nam Cum 4 hydropower plant in Vietnam.
Under the terms of the deal, which was awarded following a competitive tender, Flovel will supply, test and commission 2 x 27MW Vertical Francis turbines with a rated head of 147.6m. Flovel’s contract also includes a governor, inlet valves, synchronous generator, excitation system, electrical & mechanical balance of plant equipment along with a SCADA system, local transportation, supervision of erection and commissioning services. .
Nam Cum 4 is located in Muong Te commune, Muong Te District, Lai Chau Province, Vietnam. It is owned by Nam Cum Hydropower Joint Stocks Company, which is a subsidiary of Hung Hai Group. This is Flovel's fourth contract for the Hung Hai Group, following awards for work on the Nam Ban 1, Song Ma 3 and Ta Pao Ho hydropower plants. It is also the company's fourth project in the Vietnamese province of Lai Chau, after Nam Ban 1, Ta Pao Ho and Hua Chang projects.
The Nam Cum 4 project is the highest single unit capacity project (27 MW), as well as the highest installed capacity project (54MW) over the last eight years for Flovel among greenfield projects.
