Ganz EEG Kft has supplied three Kaplan turbines each with a capacity of 1.825MW to RusHydro for installation at a small hydropower plant in Stavropol Krai.

This is the second order in the last two years which Ganz has fulfilled for RusHydro. In 2018 it supplied 2×2.9MW turbines as part of a project to develop small hydropower in the Caucasus part of Russia.

The new turbines supplied at the beginning of April have a head of 12/5m, flow rate of 16m3/sec and efficiency of 91.75%. The runners have a diameter of 1.8m and the weight of each turbine is 22 tons.

“Due to the demand for renewable energy and the ecological advantages of small hydropower we expect a constant interest towards this kind of equipment in the coming decades,” commented Oleg Russkikh, managing director of Ganz EEG Kft.

Ganz EEG Kft is a subsidiary of the mechanical engineering division of ROSATOM – Atomenergomash.
