No 1 hydroelectric facility – Tajikistan’s second largest power station. The project to build the 670MW Sangtuda Plant, located on the Vakhsh river 120km from Dushanbe, started in 1989 during the Soviet era but was suspended with the fall of the Soviet Union.
The new plan envisages completion of construction in three years.
