In a project with a total estimated cost of approximately US$3.3M, Marubeni will equip the plant with a new generator, giving it an output of 260kW, Nikkei.com has reported.

The plant, which has been out of operation since 2007, was acquired from a local agricultural cooperative. Following this acquisition, Marubeni now operates three small hydro schemes in the region, with plans to purchase a further seven plants within the next five years.
