The Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) and the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) have announced the launch of a mentorship programme aimed at advancing women professionals in the energy sector across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. The programme is funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).
This 12-month initiative is designed to support women in junior to mid-level management roles by offering mentorship, networking opportunities, and skill development to enhance their leadership potential and contributions to the energy transition.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must:
- Identify as women and hold citizenship in a SADC member country.
- Have 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English, the programme’s working language.
- Be able to dedicate approximately 3–4 hours per month to programme activities.
Mentorship programe
The programme is also seeking senior energy professionals to act as mentors. Mentors are expected to commit 1–1.5 hours per month and will be matched with participants based on their skills and the mentees’ goals.
