Voith Siemens’ scope of supply comprises the modernisation and upgrading of four vertical Francis turbines (4.3m runner diameter) with a rated capacity of 81MW each, four 90MVA generators (8.3m rotor diameter) and four high voltage transformers of 95MVA.
Mequinenza’s maximum output will be increased by 30% to 324MW at a rated head of 47m, and by 20% to 384MW at a maximum head of 53m.
