According to reports in Vietnam News, the project is expected to cost US$28M to build, and will contribute 98.5M to the national grid when it is complete at the end of 2007.

Electricity Company No 1 of Vietnam has entered into an agreement with China's Yunnan Power Grid Co which will see both companies construct the 21.4MW Seo Chong hydroelectric project in Vietnam's Lao Cai province.
