Daduhe River Hydropower Development Corp awarded the partners the contract to design, produce, model tests and supply four runners for the 165MW turbines to be installed at the Shensigou plant. The project is in Hanyua County, Sichuan province, and will be the 18th hydropower plant on the Daduhe river. The contract is worth Euro17M (US$25.2M).
For the Yinpan scheme, the JV is to provide the same services also for four runners for 150MW turbines. The client is Chogqing branch of energy group Datan, which accepted the winning bid of Euro11M (US$16.3M). The plant is being built on the Uqzan river in Ulan County of Chongqing.
The JV was established in April as a strategic framework arrangement to design and produce turbine and generator parts.
In a statement, Power Machines said that other projects of interest to the JV include: the Paklay scheme in Lao PDR, which is to have 10 units each of 132MW capacity; and, the Hutgi scheme in Myanmar, which is to have seven units each of 170MW plus one unit of 132MW.
