‘The Hoover Power Allocation Act of 2011 granted existing Hoover power contractors the opportunity for new 50-year contracts for 95% of existing power allocations,’ stated George F Ogilvie III, Chairman of the Colorado River Commission of Nevada (CRC). ‘This opportunity for additional entities to obtain Hoover dam power is a unique benefit to Southern Nevada, and the CRC encourages all eligible entities to submit applications.’

A workshop has been set up to further discuss potential opportunities to obtain this resource which is available to large electrical customers including governmental entities and Native American Tribes in portions of Clark, Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda, White Pine and Mineral Counties. Residential customers are not eligible.
