RWE Innogy’s 3.5MW Black Rock hydroelectric scheme has been officially opened on the lower catchment of the River Glass, near Evanton, Ross-shire, Scotland.

The run-of-river scheme will have an average output of 11,200MWh per year, enough to supply approximately 2500 homes.

RWE Innogy UK says it will invest in excess of £175,000 over the lifetime of the hydro scheme in to local community activities and projects within the Kiltearn Community Council area.



RWE Innogy UK has 23 operational hydroelectric schemes in the UK generating around 78MW of power and several more schemes in development and construction.
