The 275MW Soubre dam has been officially inaugurated in Cote d'Ivoire, with the project having began generation back in May, around eight months ahead of schedule.
Built by SinoHydro, the dam was financed in part by a loan from China's Export-Import Bank. It features a 4.km long dam on the Sassandra River.
The project increases the country’s total capacity by approximately 10%.
