The expanded plant will cover an area of 122ha in Phuoc Long District, 200m downstream from
the existing plant, and will contain
a 75MW turbine group and
88MVA generator. Construction is expected to begin in late November 2005, with the plant generating power by the end of 2008. Once
completed, it will produce an annual average of 52MkWh.
The Binh Phuoc People’s Committee agreed to allocate 25ha of resettlement area in Phuoc Son Commune for the 73 families who will be displaced by the construction. The land is 800m north of the construction site.
