Voith has announced a further milestone in its involvement with small hydropower with the inauguration of its new Hydropower Technology Center and a new production hall for final assembly at Kössler in Austria, the firm’s competence center for small hydro.
During the inauguration last week, Josef Lampl, Managing Director of Kössler, emphasized that the investment in the location expansion is a clear commitment from Voith to small hydropower and to the future of hydropower as a whole. "The potential of hydropower is a long way from being exhausted; not here in Austria, not in Europe, and especially not worldwide," he said.
The new construction was officially inaugurated in the presence of customers, business partners, local government representatives, Voith and Kössler management and employees.
The inauguration was preceded by the third Kössler "Join Small Hydro Experience" small hydropower symposium under the motto "Customers for Customers – Experts for Experts". This year, small hydropower projects from the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Eastern Europe and Russia were presented and discussed by customers and technical experts.
