Work has begun on the 9.7MW Datara hydropower plant in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, following a recent groundbreaking ceremony.

The project is being developed by ISDN Holdings Limited as majority shareholder through its subsidiary PT SDM (49%), along with local firm PT Bukit Lau (31%) and the District Government (20%).

PT SDM will offer support in the form of financing and developing the infrastructure of the project, while the Gowa Government will assist in the necessary land acquisition as well as the obtainment of the requisite relevant permits and approvals.

The Datara project is expected to take 18 to 24 months to complete and is estimated to cost US$20 million to build; and will be funded by a combination of debt and equity financing
