Zeerdan dam is a 64.5m high concrete gravity (RCC) structure currently under construction in the southeastern province of Sisstan-va-Baluchesstan near the Pakistani border. It is located 140km north of the city of Chabahar, the province’s main port, on the northern shoreline of the Gulf of Oman. The project is mainly aimed at managing seasonal floods and annually provides 10Mm3 of drinking and industrial water, and 35Mm3 of water for feeding the 5500 hectare Peer-Sohrab irrigation network.
